What does each IV visit actually make you?
Put in your visit price and what each visit costs you. See your profit per visit, your month, and how many visits you need before the business pays for itself.
What a client pays on average, after discounts and membership pricing.
What one visit uses: the fluids, vitamins, add ons, catheter, tubing and the rest.
Set it to $0 if you do every visit yourself and pay yourself from the profit.
Gas and wear for the round trip. Leave it at $0 for a lounge.
The percent your payment processor keeps from each visit.
What you pay every month whether or not you see anyone: insurance, medical director, software, phone, website and marketing.
How many visits you do now, or the number you are planning for.
The starting numbers are only examples. Change every slider to your own costs. This is arithmetic with your numbers, not a forecast and not financial or tax advice.
How the math works
Three numbers run the whole business.
Break even is your fixed costs divided by what each visit leaves you after its own costs. It is the break even formula the SBA walks through for any business plan, put in IV terms.
- Profit per visit is your price, minus the bag and supplies, the nurse pay, the drive and the card fee.
- Visits to break even is your monthly fixed costs divided by profit per visit, rounded up. Below that number the month loses money. Above it, every visit adds its full profit.
- Profit this month is profit per visit times your visits, minus your fixed costs.
Two things move the answer most. Raising your average price moves profit per visit one for one, and so does cutting what a visit costs. Fixed costs only change how many visits it takes to get there. That is why a membership or a higher priced drip can matter more than a cheaper bag.
Marketing belongs in fixed costs. When you know your break even number, you also know how many new bookings your ads and your website have to bring in each month.
